About Dr. Amanda Bartier

Dr. Amanda was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and grew up with many special cats and dogs. She attended the University of Calgary for all of her schooling, and graduated from the University of Calgary Veterinary Medicine program in 2018. She has been fortunate enough to work in clinics in both Alberta and BC, and is looking forward to starting this next chapter here in Calgary.

Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping older animals live their best lives. She became certified in acupuncture after witnessing firsthand how helpful acupuncture can be for a variety of chronic conditions often seen in older pets. She also understands how stressful in-clinic appointments can be for older animals with limited mobility. This practice was started as a way to help older animals feel more comfortable without disrupting their daily routines. Working together with your regular veterinarian, Dr. Amanda will help you meet the goals you have for your pet.

Dr. Amanda’s other professional interest is end-of-life care. Through her career she has found the most meaning in helping families say goodbye, and feels it is a privilege to help honour the human-animal bond in this way. When it comes time to say goodbye, Dr. Amanda believes there is no more important way to honour the relationship you have with your pet than a peaceful moment at home. Your pet can be in their own home, surrounded by familiar scents and sounds, and comforted by those who love them.

Dr. Amanda is a member of the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association, The Calgary Academy of veterinary Medicine, the College of Integrative Veterinary Medicine, the Canadian Veterinary Medicine Association, and the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
